Well though this is only my second year as a fellow deviant, the deviantART community makes me feel like I've been here forever!
(In a good way)
I actually found out about dA from the amazing burdge
(as most do) after seeing some of her stuff around the web with links back to dA. So when I was signing up I saw dA as more of a social art community - which, granted it is - but I was joining for the page views and attention more than the art, as most amateur dA rookies do.
Nowadays dA has become more than that to me (although a
here and there doesn't always hurt the ego
) but honestly though - not a priority anymore, I've really just trying to improve my art to something I can be proud of. And if that dA "fame" does
come one day, I want it to be for my art not my social status.
dA has really
helped me improve my art skills and techniques like so:
Let's just say, I'm glad I joined.
My work went from doodles in my sketch book to pieces I really am proud of - here's the evolution of, yours truly, LoriannaLogan
In fact without dA I wouldn't have bough my Wacom Intuos tablet!
I wanted to do digital art to try and incorporate that modern factor - as well as color which is a challenge for me. Digital art is a little harder than I thought it would be, but doing art with it has actually helped me go in a new direction...and project...
Alllllllllllllll, because of dA.
But anyway, what I'm trying to say is dA has helped me improve and even inspired me more times than I can count to create something artistic; specifically my favorite deviants who I'd like to thank and appreciate now:
So AKA everyone I'm watching, but still, these guys are the BEST!
These are some of the people who help make this community great, and make me glad I joined dA.
So, to conclude, HAPPY BIRTHDAY
and may you have many more birthdays to come!
